Auf dem YouTube-Kanal des American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) gibt es eine faszinierende Animation unseres Universums.
Auf der Website des AMNH heißt es u.a.
After hovering over Mount Everest and the gorges that plunge to the Ganges, you are pulled through the Earth’s atmosphere to glimpse the inky black of space over Tibet’s high desert. So begins The Known Universe, a new film produced by the American Museum of Natural History that is part of a new exhibition, Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe, at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City. Das Ganze konnte man übrigens so ähnlich (wissenschaftlich weniger akurat, aber nicht minder faszinierend) auch am Anfang des US-Films “Contact” mit Jodie Foster sehen. (siehe hier). Aus diesem Film hatte ich bereits diesen Artikel mit einem schönen Zitat auf dem Englisch-Blog geschrieben.

Das erinnert mich mal wieder an Douglas Adams:
In dem Buch „Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis“ von Douglas Adams steht:
„Das Universum ist groß. Verdammt groß. Du kannst dir gar nicht vorstellen, wie gewaltig, ungeheuer, umwerfend groß es ist.“

Ein tolles Video! Das hat übrigens einen, inzwischen etwas angegrauten, Vorgänger: Powers Of 10, das in der Space Night ganz passend mit Pink Floyd’s “One Of These Days” unterlegt wird.
